      @davito:

      I am not a fan of tapering an existing cut too but to each his/her own

      This is my size 30 hemmed to approx 32.5 and worn cuffed

      They are really nice, hopefully mine will fit like that, but the hem on those starts at 8" and the 32" will have 8.8". So I reckon they wont look as slim at the hem as yours.

        I've had jeans tapered twice, and although the work was done perfectly, it just doesn't work… Either I imagined things, or it kinda fucked up the silhouette...

        I'd suggest buying jeans that work for you, all the way from top to bottom...  🙂

          Cheers,

            Davito, that is a great fit. I love those Bucos more and more each time I see them.  😘

              I think the 666 are great - my first IH were the 666L - but since buying my 634s I haven't worn them. I have the whole 'big thigh' problem too and the 666Ls just can't compete in the comfort department. In my opinion.

              It's worth noting that the grey 634s have an even more relaxed thigh than the standard ones. At least mine do.

                regarding hemming w/ a taper: i highly recommend sending any pants you want altered to rail car fine goods.

                they do great work. as long as you don't want them taken in too much, they will look fine(if the hem is 8.8, probably wouldn't be wise to go below 8")just ask them to start the taper like 10-12 inches above the hem, so it is gradual.

                    David, perfect fit on those 634s. You too snowy.

                    On an unrelated note, I think it should be considered fact that if you live near SE/VMC/DC4 your style goes up 1000 points.

                          What I have noticed though is that being near a store really takes out a lot of guess work about how much you'll like something. Really takes away a lot of frustration (and lost $.)  to those who don't have that luxury, the struggle must continue….

                            I'm in Minneapolis.  Let me explain what that means.  It means you're either kind of a schmaltzy type who likes wearing bowling shirts and eating tater tot casseroles, or you're a hipster wearing skinny jeans, flannels, a beard, horn-rims, and a smug sense of self-satisfaction, particularly about your obscure taste in music and artisinal food and beverage products.

                            Ha that was so unfair.  I stand by the stereotypes, but none of my friends are like that.  Probably because most of us are transplants!  ZING

                                        Thx Ben too kind with the points but imo everybody can have style doesnt matter where you live and shop. I dont think i "deserve" more points than anybody else just because i live some 20 minutes from the shop. I know some people who do not shop in that segment where we do and they have a great style too, men or women. I believe it depends on somebodys individual passion as well as interest in something and also the courage to stand for what you are and developing your own style over the years (not only clothes). Imho 🙂

                                        Cheers,

                                          For sure. But I have found that in my experience its way easier to get the silhouettes, fits, etc that you want when you can actually try the stuff on. I'm looking forward to testing my theory in LA 🙂
