Has anyone heard of Coffee Joulies?http://www.joulies.com/
I've been thinking about getting them for a long time but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Thought some of you coffee geeks might get a kick out of them.

My bartender last night (and buddy) is also a barista. I asked about local coffee and he encouraged me to check out Dogwood (http://www.dogwoodcoffee.com/), where he works. I had had their coffee at one of my favorite restaurants (they do drip, espresso, and siphon there), and knew he was right about them. Total geeks. They developed their own cold presser, had a cold press shaken with coconut milk that was quite good.
Also picked up this beauty:
Perfect size for moistening aeropress filters:
And some of this freshly roasted espresso blend (they were out of single source): http://www.dogwoodcoffee.com/collections/all-coffee/products/neon_espresso
Aeropressed a scoop of this over a giant ice cube (too goddamned hot today for hot coffee) and added some pastured whole milk (after tasting the syrupy deliciousness of course):
Quite good I must say, especially with milk. It would make a wondrous cappuccino. This is good stuff. You can order it online, apparently even on Amazon, if you are interested.

Thanks D–it was made for pour-overs and Aeropress. Super heavy and thick!

Anesthetist, what a great experience :). It's not too hard to make non-espresso coffee at home, low costs, simple to make, and tastes amazing.
Sump looks like a really nicely spaced/designed shop. Watching the videos the other day didn't show the full shop as nicely as that - thank you.
MCL, nice mug mate. Great to see all these thicker mugs popping up. They do make a taste difference, same as wine glasses, so nice work :). (Why it's different feck knows, but I can taste it and you've got geeks like Dogwood making mugs specifically for pour over/aeropress)

Like I said… Sump is on a whole other level compared to anyone else in town. Glad you enjoyed it, I think I'm going tomorrow.

you'd need mine though, right
btw. a nice little vid that makes me want to go for the aeropress instead of the V60…looks so easy, fast and just plain awesome...also quite a bit funny!

I love that video :).
It doesn't lie as to what's involved with an Aeropress. It's very simple and fast to get a decent cup out of. V60 is that next level cup with more factors involved. You can also make V60 for more than 1 person in a single crack without issue.
Why not get both in honest? Aeropress is about $35 and it's handy as feck. I have 2 of them, 1 @ work, 1 for travel. As well as a V60…

Do it Finn, aeropress is amazing… I have a pour-over rig that came with a burr grinder I just ordered, so I'll add that to the repertoire, but I really love the aeropress and it would be hard to displace/replace. It makes a mean cup of java and is really efficient (easy clean-up, etc)....

^Please take a few more pictures if you don't mind.
