      ^^ Thanks for the review. I've been mulling over this jacket, but was worried that the weight would overlap with my  leather jacket. Your review confirms my fears. Thanks.

        Love it. Waiting on the alpaca IH deck jacket though. The zipper, storm flap, length, and alpaca seal it for me.

        Think it, be it.

          Nice pics, tat. I like those buckles! I know where I'm sending my RC's once they are in need of a resole!

            @ConradBain:

            I picked up the Pensacola, tried it on, slept on it over the weekend, and returned it.  I didn't even get around to taking any fit pics.

            1. It's an amazing piece.  Jungle cloth outside, and cord lining the entire inside.  It's like putting on a lined glove.

            2. It was much heavier than I was expecting (hoping).  It's more coat than jacket.

            3. I'm longer in the torso, and it sat a bit higher above my waist than I was expecting.

            4. The collar wanted to stay up - and frankly, looked better up.  In doing so, sort of dictates that it's worn in colder temps, when you need the wool collar up against your neck.  This may have been because it was brand new, and maybe flattens out over time..

            I have a deck jacket that's been beaten up and takes the brunt of my cold and wet weather days..  this would have been an expensive piece wasting away in my closet.

            Just my two cents -

            Still thinking about which size to choose. Which size did you choose and what size are you usually in IH jackets?

              I'm 6'2" 175ish.  I tried out a 40 in the Pensacola. Usually a L / XL in Iron Heart stuff.  The 40 was the right size.  I think the high-waist and collar were simply a result of a brand new / had been folded up piece.

              If it was going to be my everyday, it would be an incredible jacket / coat.  If I had the scratch, I would have kept this to wear from time to time.  And I'm sure one day I'll regret having sent it back -

                Yes, in the pictures of Cristophe wearing it the collar lies down. So eventully it will stay down I suppose. And what's your chest measurement if I may ask?

                      I'm about a 40 / 42 suit jacket.

                              Did the bottom knit part seem kinda flimsy? Or did it keep it's shape?

                                Not flimsy.  Seems the same wool (on the Pensacola waistband, cuffs and collar) as the MF N-1 has on the cuffs and collar, if you've ever seen that..  Solid.

                                  What do you guys mean by "super cold"? Here I suppose it starts to get super under about -22F.
