I kind of like the weave, though I am not sure if it's really a serge de nimes, a "denim".  I guess it could be with just super irregular warps.  Someone with more expertise than I would have to clear that one up.

    Think it, be it.

The fabric itself looks ace, defo… I mainly think the guy's expression is ruining this experience...

Yeah, seeing that close up I think it's a gray warp denim periodically interrupted by a large indigo weft that goes under a few warp threads and over a bunch more at a time.  I've admired em for a while, they ain't cheap though.

I was surprised at their price.  If u look on Unionmade they have their stuff for much more.  I think they are around $100 to $150 more

Sal I have the 7-S stone sumi slim cut low rise (see 1st page of the thread), have a look at the cisco cuts in 5-S or 7-S as the rise is pretty low on the stone and not sure if you like that. Further you have the Button fly on the cisco compared to zipper in stone. There is a third tapered cut but cant remember its name.

awesome unique pants, i get asked a lot about them, I gave em to a girlfriend for wearing them a bit, she loved it too.

I wouldnt call them heavyweight at that oz, more stiff until the sashiko soften and settled like in the pics Sal posted.

And then there is the whole thing with coating it (kakishibu). Bandanna Almanac is the expert when you want to know more about it or to read it in his blog or on the century denim page

                              Cheers,
                              David

Looks great!  That's the long length, eh?  I really love denim trucker-style jackets, except for the length.  I know that it's the way the cut is supposed to be, but it never works with my hips.

What do you think of the century denim?  I've never gotten to handle it in person, but it looks so beautiful.

When I bought my first IH Type III, I was a bit shocked at how short it was. I became accustomed to the fit over time and now the longer denim jackets that I have tried on look odd to me. It is humorous that this is the long version. I guess I'm lucky that this jacket even fits me, Kapital doesn't make a whole lot of clothing that does it seems.

The century denim is a true stunner. The indigo thread woven throughout looks like it will fade very nicely.

Very nice fit on the jacket Anesthetist, looks like i already found the answer here to my question in waywt as to what size you took, same size as me.
Good call on taking the long version, the short version seems really short to me.
Do you plan on an intitial wash?
I've worn mine raw untill now, planning on giving it it's first wash this fall, but i'm trying to hold out for just a while longer.

It's hard to describe the Century denim sabergirl, it really needs to be felt and seen up close i think to get a notion of the beauty.
it feels pretty rough, and cracks very well, so i'm already seeing some armpit and elbow fading on the indigo threads on mine.

I'm kind of off topic sabergirl-I've got the selfedge iron heart type III sexih22 in 46 & it's  longer than most trucker jackets. It was almost 30 inches before a soak it didn't lose much length. It's loom state. I'm 6'3 and it falls below the belt line.

Those are my principles, and if you don't like them…

@Mich I haven't soaked it and probably won't until it needs it. When I do it will probably be a quick and in cold as I don't want to risk too much shrink. I have been told to only expect 3% but I don't want to take chances!
