the actual reason is that two years back, I was living in switzerland before I went back to Germany to graduate. eating horse meat is not really a good thing to do on germany. the Germans are pretty strict when it comes to what meat to eat and what not…

yap horse as davito already said correctly, buying horse meat in your local supermarket here in switzerland is as common as being able to buy a gun in every yet so little village in the US!
it's just a "normal" thing to do/eat…you can get it everywhere!

and yeah, Giles is correct...just another super nice meat! gonna update you guys on the taste as soon as I'm having it (can't remember tbh., too far away ^^).

Switzerland is extremely strict with meat quality control, some might tell me know something about that scandal happened in Europe earlier this year, where declaration of beef was almost 100% not-declared horse instead. But I do not know any of those details.
I remember that horse began to be popular around 25 years ago probably here around, when my mother started to cook some nice horse steaks. My sister still refuses til today to eat horse and the wife of a friend as well because she is riding the horses

My state is one of a few where horse slaughter and processing for human consumption is legal. It's a very contentious issue with radicals on both sides of the fence. There was an entire issue of an awesome Okie underground newspaper about it.

now i know eating horse meat isn't really d'accord with some, but thinking about eating a lovely little dog is just a tad too much (not want to get into that cultural thing since i know some do eat dog meat and other great animals…)...dog is too much for me as well buddy

the only "dog" i'd eat would be a "hot dog" but that's about it
