      @SpaceGnome:

is that flag sticker on the SKB case something you added?  Or is it on the case to begin with?

Added. It's covering an skb logo.

Here goes,…........................a few favourite luggage options.

First up is the Air Boss travel bag from Red Oxx.  The bag is made to the exact maximum allowable carry on dimension for airline travel.  The bag is really well made with tough cordura fabric, triple stitching, heavy duty zippers etc.
The bag has three main compartments, central padded compartment for laptops etc, the two outer most compartments completely fold out to allow easy stowage of clothing.  Each compartment has an internal fastex buckle fixing loops to keep your garments in place.
A great item and I find it suitable for 3-4 day trips away from home.

Next up is very small low key UK brand called Aiguille.  They make quality climbing packs and duffel bags.  Most of the bags are made to order and they don't carry much stock.  They can make you a bag within 10-14 days.

        http://www.aiguillealpine.co.uk/

They use similar materials and simple bombproof designs and construction techniques as Red Oxx.

The 100 litre duffel bag I have owned for at least 15 years and it is untouched, it has really stood up well to lots of use.
        and abuse.

I recently picked up a small 20 litre teardrop shape backpack.  The pack is called the "runout" and is a nice simple two compartment design.  I asked Aiguille to use a red lining material making it easy to find your stuff in the bottom of the bag.

Lastly is a great piece of kit for motorcycle touring.  The Ortlieb Tizip range of travel bags are 100% waterproof due to their rubberized vinyl material and use of Tizip closure.  The Tizip was developed for diving drysuits, it is essentially a 100% waterproof, rubber and flexible zip system with watertight end closure.
I have tested this bag out in some horrific conditions ( Motorcycle touring in Scotland can be a wet experience ).  I have also submerged it out of interest to see how waterproof the bag is, it came through the test with no problems.

G, I have two of the Tizip bags 30litre  and 50litre sizes, seriously good bits of kit, simple but very effective.

A cheaper alternative is the "rack pack" roll closure waterproof bags, various sizes between 24 - 90 litres.

I have this one in the Great Lakes colorway(All Black). Tommy might need the medium backpack though.

Unfortunately, they recently raised their prices. Made in USA and a Lifetime guarantee though is hard to pass up.

End Clothing have a bunch of canvas backpacks in their sale right now. The Woolrich ones are made by Frost River, and there are also a few by Yuketen.

I'd be most tempted by the navy Woolrich knapsack.

Aiguille, as mentioned above, do some nice little packs. You'll need to dig around their website a bit to find them though.

The Aiguille bags are nice. Alban sell a couple in their shops here in London, so you could take a look when you're next down.

Makr do some nice looking canvas bags, which the 189 Store is selling for £110. Probably cheaper than shipping them in from the States at that price.

South 2 West 8 are another maker of canvas packs. I don't know much about them, apart from the fact they're yellow. 🙂

If you do I would love to see the shots.  After a friend snagged one of their bags I've been chomping at the bit to snag one…

I'm interested in their usage as travel/day packs, more so than commuter. One of the reviews (http://brooksreview.net/2012/12/gr1/) and Todd's concerns earlier was that due to not being top-loading it's a pain for travel. What does Real World ™ have to say?

                                          Thanks in advance.

Don't worry about that Snow Man, Tommy makes all his own decisions on clothes and accessories and he isn't the kind of kid/ it isn't the kind of school where bullying is much of an issue. Tommy is generally quite popular at school, so it has never really been an issue for him luckily, I had to get by with being a foot taller than anyone else, and a punch first ask questions later kind of guy ha ha…..but that was a different time.
