And also a nice dog collar. I like the stitched-in D ring keeper.

Over the last week a few members have got a hands on look at the hardware i will be using and leather samples. I was showing a 4.5mm and the 5.5mm sample that measures up at 6mm.

The feeling seems to be the 5.5/6 is to thick and that they were happy with the quality of the 4.5.

So I can order the 4.5 at the 5mm thickness and hopefully be able to knock some out soon.

Thoughts, issues, happy, not happy let me know??

        Cheers

A few photos of the 4.5mm sample and comparing with the 5.5

          I'd prefer the 5.5 which measures a 6mm one.

but going with the people on the list.

Having seen both samples of the leather, I'd say the 6mm was way to thick to be realistically usable as a belt; you'd never get it to go through the buckle successfully. The IH belts are 5mm and thats probably as thick as you'd want to go. For me the 4.5mm sample was lovely, still thicker than 99% of belts with potential to be usable and comfortable. 4.5 - 5mm every time for me.

Having spoken to Todd at length over the weekend i was really impressed with how he is obsessing over every detail on these belts, these really are going to be quite special. It hasn't been mentioned here, but Todd told me in passing that all the hardware and the leather on these is going to be UK made and sourced. To me this sort of attention to detail makes all the difference, good work Todd.

If there's a next round, I will gladly take part in it because of this…

                Thank you simon for that.

I want a second round even a 10th would be great, but i am moving back to aus in September and dont want to over promise. when i get home and hoping i can source leather, my plan being a fully made in aus belt i am more than happy to keep going and i will be in a better financial position and wouldn’t need rounds you want one i will make you one.

^ Likewise, happy to go with the majority, although Simon makes a good point with regards to 4.5-5mm being the 'sweet spot'

                    Looking forward to these Todd!

Natural finish as per your sample for me Todd, and agree with (the other) Simon about the thickness.

These belts are going to be SWEET 😉

I will take the rightmost stain.  So I'm: Brass/Brown thus far.

All looking awesome Todd.  I'm happy with the 4.5 thickness - 6 sounds too much, I reckon.

Colours look good too - I'm thinking one of the two middle ones.

Ok it is time to get organised, I have made up myself a spreadsheet. All the private info will stay private and you can pm me the info you prefer.

                                      The info I need is:

                                      1. User name
                                      2. Name (will stay private if you wish)
                                      3. Hardware (I have them all besides Nerkg)
                                      4. Finish (Raw (not pictured but same as sample), Obenauf’s LP, Mink Oil, Brown Stain)

To show the different colours (L-R)
                                      1. worn untreated for 2 months then light coat of mink oil. (also different leather)
                                      2. 2 coats of mink oil then 2 coats of Obenaufs HP as i thought being a dog collar it needs some love.
                                      3. 2 coats of mink oil
                                      4. 2 coats of brown stain then mink oil

I will do some more testing with the Obenaufs on its own, you can also buy raw and do what ever you like. If you leave it raw you can tan it in the sun for a few day or let it age like denim. Let me know if you want to see something.

                                      1. Size (You need to measure from the belt buckle to the hole you use on your belt now, these belts will have 5 holes the middle being the one that fits. sorry bad phone photos)

                                      1. Keeper style (split, or a normal one)

                                      1. Address (will stay private if you wish)
                                      2. Payment

Any questions ask me as I am learning too.

Now payment options, anyone have any other ideas than paypal? I have a UK and AUS bank account.

i dont know how to put the spread sheet up, help!  🙂

Any ideas, suggestions on the spreadsheet please let me know your help is appreciated.  Cheers

I say we use Google Docs for the spreadsheet. That way we can enter info directly with no requirements for software to do so.
