WX2 is a creativity branch of Obbi Good Label originally base on Work Wear inspired concept. Still maintaining this belief, we continue this concept onto the militant.
This Spring, will be introducing WX2 – Military Style.
Each wallet has got a story of its own, presenting its design background, the imagination of the tradesman and then combining its functionality into a realistic concept.

When we talk about ‘Boondocker’ here, what do we mean? Its definition developed into various meaning throughout the years and use loosely by people.
From most research, I have found out that the term ‘Boondocker’ started in the 20th century by American military servicemen serving in Philippines. It comes from a Tagalog word for mountain ‘Bundok’. They started using it to mean a rural, remote bushy area.
In the modern world, Boondocker now has got different variations. From snowmobile to RV community to military, it has however maintain its meaning of exploring the remote area, the adventurous type.

Continuation of WX2 Military leather goods, this week we release the Naval wallet.
The idea came about when we first handled our supplies of these Blue Cavalier Chromexcel Leathers (Horween). What we saw was a wavy ‘sea of blue leathers’ when stacking the hides on the shelf. All it took was someone to cry out, we should do something for the Navy. And that is how it all started.

The design of this wallet is inspired by Mr. -Five-’s original design which we were commissioned to produce in 2010. The full story coverage can be found recorded in his blog entry, showing his sketch design to the details of material used on his wallet.
3 years later, we reproduce this design and place it in a prestige category in Obbi Good Label’s design altar. One of the 3 pieces for WX2 Military, this is the AF1 Wallet.
The double stitching lines across the wallet are machine-sew with walking foot trails in between the lines, imprinting onto the lambskin contrasting the grain pattern.

This is one part that we recently improvised on the coin compartment. It allows more space and accessibility to the coins inside with extra opening on one side which is innovatively hidden.
This is OGL original design.

Natural Lamb Skin Vegetable-tanned leathers.
We were invited to select some Vegetable-Tanned Lamb Skin few months ago and we are very excited to made some prototypes out of it.
Lamb Skin veg-tanned are uncommon. The reason is because leather process by vegetable-tanning is normally used for tooling (carving) purpose or making crafts that needs a form. Thus, thicker leather is always preferred for vegetable-tanned.
Lamb Skin known for its softness, used commonly on leather garments, is not a usual hide for vegetable-tanning because it is not as thick to start off with.
However, even as said, there are still need for these uncommon leather (I wouldn't say rare)Anyway, here are the prototypes,

This is the first time I am showing this additional feature in Obbi Good Label's leather crafting on the coin compartment.
An excess opening that further assist you to reach to your coins easily.
We have seen many leathercrafts with really good and attractive designs, however, we rarely see serious thoughts put into the functionality or improvising on the leather products for the users who are the key to determine the basics of the product.
This additional feature on the coin compartment will be one of the identification of all OGL products from now on. So that when you see this feature you will know it is made by us.
