Just one more time: disregard Nerkg's comments and soak your 25 oz jeans at least after a couple of weeks of wear… Especially if you cuff your jeans or if you're prone to crotch blowouts...

No disrespect Kev, but they won't last two years without a soak...  😉

At last, a ray of hope.  My jeans sales may not fall off the cliff after all…..

I of course meant to say that they wouldn't last two years without needing some repair…

Backed.  Regular soaking is not a bad idea either.  This denim is far too thick and crisp.  It will rub away the seam stitching both inside and out at the hem and crotch seam if you don't.

I'm curious if you recommend this even after an initial soak. These jeans are quite stiff and don't stack at my ankles well. They just kind of make everything below my knee look all bunchy so I'll be cuffing them to avoid that. I'd hate to have them tear at the fold.

It's a good idea to soak periodically, especially when the jeans are new and are stiffer and still have a lot of starch

To each his own. My buddy had a par 4 years never touched water. Not a blowout to speak of. The denim wasp re brittle but 4 years is a little excessive , you get the point though. I'm not saying water dosent help denim last longer, it does, I'm just saying its not that big a deal. There just jeans, I'd rather enjoy them the way they are.

Gave mine a 20 min soak in warm-hot water, with slight agitation. Minimal shrinkage, maybe 1/4-1/2" in length, less that in the waist/thighs. I didn't lose much indigo at all in the tub, just a slight blue tint to the water. I'm not sure how much starch came out since:

I'm just glad I left all but the top button done up,just getting that one buttoned took some effort.
Fit is great. I was concerned about the taper, but it is so slight I don't even notice. Leg opening is perfect with boots IMO, which is a very good thing since I'm expecting my custom White's Bounty Hunters soon. I'll try and post some fit pics if I can get the wife to help, but since she was teasing me about photographing my belts last night, I can't promise she'll cooperate.;)

These are already my favorite pair ever. I'm relatively new when it comes to awesome denim, I currently own a pair of dc4001s(awesome), Roy RS03(love those too), and N&FxMomotaro Skinny Guys(fabric is really nice, but I really only bought them for the long inseam..should have done more research back then.) Once the MBBs settle, they'll be perfect.

I like to keep a coin to flip in my pocket.  For the 634SV I picked a 1921 peace dollar.  It's good to keep a flipper in your jeans.  You never know when you may need it to break a hard decision that actually doesn't matter at all…
