A quick word on the mustang paste. I had just applied it to my IH-CCH and had set it on the kitchen window sill to dry. My wife was washing dishes and accidentally got it wet. I guess I realized it only a short while later and I was surprised to see the water beading up like it would on a freshly waxed car. After drying it, I didn't see any water marks at all. I've also applied to it an older Goro's coin wallet and it has really refreshed the leather. With a little beeswax, the thing looks almost new.

Obenauf's does similar beading FYI. I really enjoyed walked through snow/rain/puddles with recently Obenauf treated boots. Boots kept utterly dry.

Most importantly, great to know the IH-CCH lives to see more spending

I have remembered to order some Saddle Soap.  Once it arrives, I can clean up the samples and finish this thing off.  Sorry for the delay….

OK.  They are on the bench…

Did a pretty good job of protecting the wood….

And a nice patina on the nails….

I then gave each sample the well known and time honoured 20 squeeze and bend treatment….

And the only sample to suffer any significant damage was the one that had had no treatment…

Next up was a good clean…

They are still a bit damp here, tomorrow, I'll take another look….
