Hey everyone, i want to ask everyone about something. I really-really like the 634RAW patch! And i'm waiting for the reply from mr. TinMan for his pair :P. so the problem is, if i have the 634RAW, what should i do if i do not want to ruin the patch even if i cold/hot soak it? Thanks everyone

Use Mustang Paste and don't do it to hot;)

            Enjoy ya addiction!

Obenauf / Pecards will also protect it, as will mink oil to a lesser degree…Any waterproofing leather treatment....

Mink oil will darken the leather quite a bit. I'd stick with Mustang Paste or Obenauf LP.

I'm guessing after soaking, since it might shrink. Or after soaking, wear and let the combs and whiskers settles before hemming.

don't let them settle before you hem cause once wear becomes more apparent it'll look off after you hem….. imagine having stack wear when you dont have stacks.

selfedge prefers if you soak before you hem.

                            Guys

My advise is hem to desired lenght + 1,5" , then 2 hot soaks preferrably machinewashes to fully shrink these. Then they're done.  I have both RAWs and SRs, so I know something about this denim 🙂

there is a difference between soaking and machinewashing. this is my experience.
machinewashing means at at least 3% more shrinking than soaking or handwashing.

3% sounds to be not so much, but in fact sometimes this makes the fit!!
i soaked my 634-raw 21/23 and still it was to wide and i really wanted to sell it, but after machinewashing it was perfect!!

my wife has a special program 15 minutes, 40 degrees and a special detergent for BLUE jeans material.

i think it would be so nice if this 21/23 oz raw fabric make into super duper slim fit cut  😃

I think that would be utterly uncomfortable… and as G has said, there will be no more 21/23....
