The stitching will not bust.  The tension on the thread on the outer seam is purposefully left slightly slack so that when the denim shrinks no undue stress is introduced into the seam.

I'm sure your right Giles but it's really unsightly and gives the impression of cheap finishing. I have soaked twice so you would assume any slack would have gone. It's a shame as the fit and the denim are great. I suppose if it continues to annoy me or spreads further I'll have to take it to The guy who hems my jeans and ask him to run another seam just behind the original to pull the seam closer together.

soaking is not going to prevent indigo transfer
part of the game, get used to it

Im in no way a novice to the game, Ive just never owned a pair of raws before that had such an excessive amount of indigo. I understand indigo tends to stain certain fabrics, however, as we all know, soaking will release a lot of the excess dye. Handling my jeans leaves my hands blue, this is not standard in the game, so I was just looking for some input to see if I underestimated my first pair of Iron Hearts with standard soaking methods, any comments or advice is much appreciated

laughing my face off at this comment….

I've had a few pairs that turn my hands blue.  Seems pretty standard to me.  Just wear those shits and the indigo will calm down after a while.... in the mean time you may want to keep a towel to sit on handy and maybe some wipies for ya fingies  😎

                      Still normal.

EDIT: in my experience, the heavier the denim, the more frequently you see this.  I haven't really seen it on any pairs I own under 16 oz, but it's present to some degree in all the pairs I own that are 17 oz or above.

Others may have a different take on it…

No we don't because it doesn't.  Washing with a lot of agitation may, but a mere soak will not.

geeman - you're letting a common occurrence get in the way of your enjoyment of a great pair of jeans. just forget about it & wear the things, they're not going to fall apart. what's the worst that could happen here - the stitching comes loose and you need to get it repaired.. simple. all my slimmer fit jeans have this, even the non iron heart jeans i'm wearing right now which i have worn non stop for a year, and nothing has ever come of it.

rephrase, a lot, no, but remove some? usually yes….kinda derailed though, just wanted to know if the newly liberated indigo dye in my jeans would cease staining everything with another, longer soak, however I believe the people have spoken, and consensus says my hands and light colored fabrics shall suffer... much thanks

In fact, it's how I know the game is on. No indigo bleed = no game.

Absurd as it is, my parents don't let me sit on anything light coloured just incase I'm wearing fresh denim. Even they respect the quality of Japanese Denim.

That's just how mine looks! It's very visible down the length of both legs, even more so at the knees when legs are bent. I have had never had this much seem visible before on any jeans from 14 to 22oz.
