50% of the current run of 25oz denim was lost to second and third grade. Because we had some issues with another jeans maker getting hold of some of our 3rd grade 21oz denim some time ago, we now buy it from the mill although we can't use it. Haraki has just pissed away USD8,000….Haraki has grown to love this denim and will persevere, but it really is on the limits of what is doable and his ability to pressure the mill is limited - if he pushes too hard, they're likely to say they don't want to do it any longer.....

I'd be down for an apron and fingers crossed there are enough creative uses for the rest to recoup at least some of the loss!
Will this affect the MBBs or are they past that stage?

Gotta be a way to use the low grade denim and cut the losses. I know Haraki is a perfectionist, but small items like coasters, mouse pads, small tote bags etc. could probably be made without including too many flawed portions. Just a thought…
