I'm sure there's a good reason I'm not thinking of, but what's the reason it only heavyweight denim in the competition? Would a lighter weight have an advantage over 2 years..?

Megatron likes heavyweight denim.  Since he created the contest, he chose what he wanted to wear.

Thought this should be in here, we will keep you informed of developments. Do not worry at this stage, if ny jeans are delayed at all I will amend your competition dates so you do not lose any competition time.

@Giles:

This is the issue.  The looms being at the limit of possibility stop mid weave randomly, this results in a stuttered re-start.  The next few throws of the shuttle resultes in uneven weft lay down.  So we have a band of imperfection running across the cloth.  It is not a good look to utilise in anything.  So we have to cut the patterns out around these bands of imperfection.  That is what we are doing with the MBB's at the moment.  To be honest haraki and I do not know what the impact on MBB delivery will be.  Haraki understands the importance of the MBB issue and will be in the factories the minute his arse lands back in Japan assessing where we are.

As an aside, we get a constant 20% bad fabric when weaving the 21oz.
