imo the place you have left in the toe box and looking at the shape of the toe box is what makes me say that they should fit just fine!

Ah, k,k. I'd say the fit is alright, but I'm not really sure if I'd benefit from a size down as I've not been able to try a half size down yet. I'm leaning towards yes–downsize-- myself.

No, I do not think they are too big.  And since you say they're comfortable, I think going down any is asking for trouble.  Your toes aren't supposed to be touching the tip of the boot, especially with a last shape like that.

Sizing is an arbitrary number, so don't pay much attention to it.  Concentrate on how they feel.
