Seriously. Such a great denim and so awesome when it starts to break in.

Anyone else think that 18oz is tougher to break in than the 21oz denim?

It's raw unsanforized, it's definitely tougher to break in.

Does anyone have W34 post soak measurements available?  Slightly worried about these being a bit slimmer than a standard 634S, so I may want to upsize to W35.  Thanks.

I don't have waist 34 post soak, but a few pages back are my waist 35 post soak (2 initial soaks).

Doug, haven't been around here much lately! My 2.5 year old 634S are to the point where they aren't really okay for office wear anymore (not to mention the impending crouch blowout), and thus I'm back to see if I should try something else or just get some more 634S.  You should be happy to hear that the old pair bears a nice Strider PT stamp as well.  Heh.  I've been thinking about a new knife too…can't make my mind up.  ZT 0550 (Hinderer on the cheap), CQC-7/8 (CQC-7 is probably the first knife I lusted after as a teenage boy scout), SJ75...

MikeC, I saw your post soak W35 measurements, thanks for taking those.  They will definitely be instrumental in my decision.

Totally SJ75 out of the three

Another modification. I had the coin pocket shut, so I could use it for normal coins. It's polycotton dark indigo thread. I chose that thread, so it retains its original look. I love these jeans….

The tailor is in the town next to me and he sews on vintage Jukis.

                            Losing Indigo…..

I've been rocking them 4-5 times a week for 3.5 months. 2 initial soaks, no wash.

                                        Hello all,
Finally decided I can't resist the Vulcan no longer, lol. But have a few questions, I'm pretty muscular (especially in the legs, football guy) but I'm fairly certain Sz 35 would be ideal…..BTW thanks MikeC for the measurements posted, definitely helped in figuring that out.

My Question: I definitely prefer a wider leg opening than a more tapered one. Is it possible to wedge something in the leg opening as I perform an initial hot soak to retain the original leg opening measurements (~9.3") as they dry, because I'm afraid the 8.9" MikeC had reported (after his hot soaks) would not be satisfactory for me. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks guys. Have a good one.

You could do that and it might work… but are you prepared to wedge something in there every time you wash?  They're eventually going to shrink, it doesn't really matter what you wedge in there.
