HEAVYWEIGHT BOOTS CHAMPIONSHIP 2013 - 2015
-
Lowered heel throws off the balance of the boot, IMO. Especially with the double midsole. I wonder how it affects the feel.
-
I was thinking the same. I know that lasts are built with a certain alignment; move it too much up or down and it throws off the weight distribution and balance. I don't know how much leeway there is, though, and I doubt White's would allow anyone to alter it if it weren't within acceptable parameters. Nonetheless, the standard height looks better to me.

Some basic Whites boots info here.

Could be the case. But I heard the arch on White's boots is high, lowering the heel (1/4 inch) may help those with flatter foot/feet.

@Omega:
#8 burgundy cxl, lace to toe, etc.!
What is the height of these boots? 6 or 8 inches?
Maybe I'm wrong…
Pretty sure the above boots are 6"
Believe these are 8"
Believe these are 10"

Can someone direct me to the correct link for the White's Bounty Hunter boot builder through Baker's site? I don't think I'm finding the right one. I exchanged emails with a rep at Viberg today, and it doesn't appear they can make a boot large enough for me. On to plan B: trying to find a White's boot in a large enough size. I should try and contact Kyle, right?
-
what size shoes do you wear?
-
Thanks, Nate. I guess I did find the right one. They definitely could use a v2.0.
My true size is a 15.5 US, but I usually go with a 15 because companies rarely make half sizes past 13. Sometimes I go 16, depending on the model. According to the Viberg rep. I corresponded with, the largest last they have is the 2030, which runs up to a 13.5 UK = 14.5 US. I can go down a half size, as they will stretch with time, but a full size is just too much (or should I say "too little").
Evidently, their custom boot builder is woefully out of date as well. The don't have several of the leathers, or sizes, listed on their site – just an FYI. It's best to email them directly if you aren't going to order through G.

Really bummed I didn't get in on this. I'm jonezing for a pair of green with natty shaft tall boy hunting boots with a beefy sole. I'd love to see the carnage they'd take and the tender love they'd recieve. 51? Peas? Pretty peas?

JSJ, here's a suggestion: Why don't you start a "back-out reserve list" – similar to the way Volcano did with the BANGLU-1 "V" preorders -- just in case any of the 50 aren't able to follow through? This way, it won't take up any more of Mega's time, and he can just consult your list if he needs to fill a few spots. First come, first serve basis via PM to get on the reserve list.
Obviously, if Mega doesn't approve, then shut it down.
If this works for you, I would like to be #2.
