That sole wouldn't last 2 years

@tmg:
Slightly under $500
Mine were $400 shipped. I used a promo code to get like $10 off plus free shipping. There are calculation errors between the baker site and the buildaboot site so it's better to place an order and then deal with Kyle. He'll give you the proper price and refund/ask for more money, etc, if need be.
Decent price, but I wonder how much does it cost to ship outside of the U.S. These are heavy boots…...shipping more expensive?
-
Shipping to asia is usd60.
EU should not be any higher. -
More noob questions. If I am 8.5 in Alden (barrie last), Red Wings and Wesco and my "normal" U.S. size is 9, what size should I take in Whites BH (semi dress last)? 8.5?
-
To be safe, yes.
-
Swatch book shots would really help! I want in. Going to be my first pair of made-to-order boots. Sizing is stressing me out already. Is it possible to send in a foot tracing for this build ?
-
I'm sure it is, contact Kyle at Bakers for some spot on advice.

Per Mega's original post:
"Boots must be new or have less than 30 wears"As long as you meet that requirement when the contest begins on May 4, 2013, you're set. Just PM him to get your registration number. What boots did you get?
Got a bounty Hunter with 3 types of leather, water buffalo, bull hide and black chromexcel. All in black. Plain toe and toe cap. I'll definitely post a photo here once i can get some good shots of it

well that also would be a part of the game…getting shit resoled and all
btw. these could look dope (not that they aren't doing it already) after a proper resole too...Rafa, those Viberg Scouts look like old man boots. For some reason, the smooth leather looks cheap to me, but it may just be the pics.
I'm really curious on how these look IRL myself! need to go through google the next couple of days and check'em out…

Guys, just to let you know that Kyle is currently not very well, so he will be out of the game for a couple of days. If you want to throw any questions my way, I will do my best to answer.

We're very similar. I've got slightly wider feet so I got 8.5E in the BH. I'll be in Toronto next weekend if you want to try them on.
-
^ how do they fit compared (in length and width) to your IHVB-01 btw.?
since you, Jordan23 and me are the same size in those…Well, I'll just speak on initial fit for me. I've been measured at The Alden store in NYC and they said I was a comfortable, out of the box, 8.5E. So, I have a slightly wide foot but I would say it sometimes comes down to sock thickness, insoles and how tight you lace the boots.
New Balance 993 sz9- perfect fit
8.5D Alden Indy CXL TruBalance Last- tight in width initially but stretched out fine and are extremely comfortable. No insoles needed. Overall length was perfect. No break in time with CXL.
8.5E Alden Indy Kudu TruBalance Last- great fit out of the box, could wear thick socks with no issues. No insoles needed. Overall length was perfect.
9 UK Viberg/ Ironheart Water Buffalo Indigo Scout- initially width was tight and length was too long, a lot of heel play. Have to wear full insoles. WAY more comfortable after the resole because the boot actually bends now. Took awhile to break in. I'm definitely an 8.5E in most Vibergs
8.5 UK Viberg Four Horseman Service Water Buffalo Roughout- width was tight and toe box WAY too low. Hurt my toenails too much to wear out for the day. Length WAY too long, longer than my larger sized scouts. Probably the worst designed shoe for my foot.
Now onto the best…
8.5E White's Bounty Hunter CXL Semi-Dress last- (with thin socks) width is a tad wide and length is perfect. Overall fit is amazing with medium weight socks and no need for insoles. No break in time with CXL. I've only worn these for a week but they get more and more comfortable everyday.
Hope that helps.

Great post Urb, but still drives me nuts that some people claim to be the same size in UK Vibergs as they are in their US shoes, when almost everywhere else I look says to size down 1. At least I know what size I would be in Whites now.

I used to think I was a 10/10.5US in most shoes. Sometimes, I'd even get size 11 because I thought the 10.5 was too tight. Then, I tried on some Alden Indys… hello properly fitting shoe/boot world.
My point is, most of these guys have NO FUCKING IDEA what size they are. And when you throw in handmade boots, you get even more confused because of all the slight inconsistencies.
