Some tree workers are clearing the trees off the power lines, in front of my house this morning. One dude has insulated Carhartt loggers on and the other dude has some late 90's Levi's on (almost white looking). If I ever hit the lottery, I'd love to hand out IH to dudes like this. I'd love to see how IH holds up to other shit like Carhartt, in the REAL work place.

It's f***** hopeless, there is snow in this country on a reasonably frequent basis, and it just makes everything turn to shit. I'm sitting at Heathrow with ten thousand other pissed off passengers, at least I'm just delayed and not cancelled like most of them.
On the bright side, I'm leaving the bloody place!

Maryland is the same way. An inch of snow and people are filling their stockrooms with emergency supplies. I tell Jody and Steven that if you can see your belt buckle, it hasn't really snowed yet

If it's not a massive corruption or your computer is smoking, a lot of the time you can yank the hard drive out and connect it to another computer as an external drive with a 15 dollar kit.

Yeah, it's just an OS fail, so yanking the drive and popping it into external enclosure isn't a big deal. I've done it a couple of times in the past. Just a hassle I don't want to deal with right now.

Laptop is pushing three years old anyway, and I was expecting something like this eventually. I told Julie a few weeks ago that it was starting to gimp a little and that I was going to look for a replacement soon. Guess the timeline got moved up. Gotta arrange the funding…

Just install Dropbox and keep your important data there (documents etc.). That's where I keep all the precious IH website stuff. Hasn't failed on me yet.

Apple might be the devil, but Microsoft are too, and an Apple laptop will last a shit ton longer than any other in my experience.

If you buy Apple, you're a sheep, if you hate Apple, you're a sheep. I'd rather be a sheep with a reliable laptop.

I hated Apple. Kiya convinced me to try. I got my Air 2 years ago, never had a single issue with it, it is so light I don't even know I am carrying it, it runs just as fast as day 1 and lastsfor about 4 hours per charge. Oh and it's "instant on". It has changed my life…

I bought a refurb (from apple) MacBook Pro 13" 4 years ago. I still use it 9 hours a day every day of the week.

All I have done to it is install an SSD, which made it feel like a new computer again and then some.

I rebuild/fresh install a PC laptop every mont or two for mates who won't shell out for an Apple. And I tell them all what to buy next!

My 1st Apple, and I'm a convert.
