I really thought this jacket would be waterproof and that it would "end" all other jackets, but after a 10 min bike ride I was soaked to my skin. Still obviously an awesome jacket, but everywhere you read it says Ventile is waterproof.

Damn, sorry about that.  Bloody Ventile…...I'll make sure we reflect that in future descriptions.....

Do they really say ventile is waterproof?  It should say water resistant.

        They meaning the general consensus.

This is what I say on the website:

Japanese "Ventile” lining - Ventile is a 100% tightly woven cotton, developed during WWII as a waterproof survival suit material

          Not inaccurate, but possibly misleading…

Even their own website/wiki both say it's water- and or weatherproof, so yeah 😛 But since we're on the subject (for possible future purchases) - ventile is not waterproof, but windproof (very fucking windproof) and water resistant, yes?

You would not fit in a large Rafa, XL for you buddy. I have an XXL, and the arms are tight.

Finn, Mega is definitely right. I went with my normal IH shirt size and cannot comfortably layer a thick hoodie, due to the arm/shoulders. It's perfect for me, however, because I can wear this with a regular IH shirt, and tee, 9+ months a year where I live. This is such a great jacket – I highly recommend it. I've owned several other M65s, and none of them come close to this.

Is it possible to size down on this? I have the IHW-05 in large, and i have some room left. Would it be possible to wear a medium?

I would say no, especially if you plan on wearing it  :-\

Thanks, the photo is a total fluke.

Size is XL per recommendation from Mega. I almost went with L based on chest, shoulders & the length of the garment, but was advised (correctly I might add) that would be a mistake.  I'm very glad I listened for once.
