Food for thought MM, and I definitely agree that gifts should not be retailed. I have received offers for Tommys IH-MINI now that he is outgrowing them, but the way I see it is that they were a gift from H, and are now Tommys jeans (which he loves), so what to do with them is his decision, but they will never be sold.
If Tommy ever decides to pass them on they will be going straight over to to Jeffs (D666) boy Jake as a gift, but for now Tommy wants to hang them on his bedroom wall

Does denim weight have anything to do with how tight a pair feels? As in would a 21oz pair with the same measurements as a 14.5oz pair feel any tighter or is the difference negligible? Thank you denim gurus…:D

Thanks you all again, excited to get a western snap and learn directly. I continue to learn a lot
Just doubling back on this after a few months of getting in and wearing snaps & western cuts. Damn they are functional. The western cut continues to be not my favourite, but I quite enjoy the stitching/colour contrasts on the clothing. Summary; in both cases once experiencing directly, my perceptions were out of line with reality.

To a certain extent, yes. Jeans are measured using their external dimensions. The thicker the denim, then the smaller the internal diameter….

I would love a comparison of the 301 to the 555 for anyone willing to give one.
-
I don't own the 555 so just hazarding a guess but I would bet the 555 are a little slimmer in the top block than the 301. The 301 is tapered from both the inseam and outseam so it's a very tapered cut, the 555 is a very slim straight cut, it is straight at the outseam allowing for exposed selvedge edge at the leg opening
