There is another detail to note: unlike other pea-coats, IHW-05 can be buttoned on both sides.

Was this really a problem with other pea coats?  My vintage WW2 coat buttons fine on both sides.

"Problem" is a a strong word, but I have one that you could only buttoned on the right.

Thanks for the comments…got a 'what the hell' when I asked my wife to snap the pic (and when I told her the price!)

Size large.  I'm 6'1",190lb, chest is 41-42", and jacket worn with tee and light weight denim shirt.

I don't yet an a IH shirt to state my "usual IH size"...but G and I pretty close to the same size so the large was his recommendation.

I'd say it's warmer by a bit, not tons, but definitely warmer for sure. One of the main reasons being that there is more coverage with the pea coat. Anyway, you can certainly find a reason justification for owning both, or so I keep telling myself anyway ;).
