I share your love for the 51 and wear it all the time. However, there was unrivalled demand for a new buffalo check ultra heavy flannel and people got what they asked for. If you value the channel to communicate your wants to Giles and Haraki, you can't really complain when they come back with a product that people have requested time and time again.

My problem is that Haraki's creativity was put on hold because everyone wanted the 72. Were the 32 and 51 standard/traditional fair like the 72 design, nope.  If you wanna keep debating, head over to Random Rants…

        PS I like debating...

I pretty much am excited for any heavy weight flannel every year.  I hope to see more solid colors in the future as well.    Otherwise I am always excited to see what the master comes up with, just for curiosity's sake.  I like to let him do his thing and if I want it…I buy it.  If I don't like it then my bank account says thanks!

I definitely want to see another 52 like flannel with hand pockets that's less/not brushed. And obviously new colors.

            I'm as ugly as you

My personal choice for next years heavy flannel would be to echo some of the crazy 70's wool flannels produced by Woolrich, JC Penney and the likes. Some of those patterns were amazing, and definitely "of their era", I would love to see Haraki's take of a true 70's style heavy flannel.

I popped in here a few weeks ago and got some washed Riever.  Washed to take all the shrinkage out of the loom state tartan.  It is a 2 yard sample of that that I took to Haraki to weave his magic…...

Ah, that is a really good point.

I'm actually thinking about buying a sofa with removable covering and buying 20-25 meters of denim material, sewing my own.
