Nice, makes me wish I could rotate into mine more often along with the 21/23oz another pair of jeans I own that don't get enough wear. Maybe next year. Although current temps of 3 degrees C, means it's 21 + 25 only at the moment :(.

Is an overdyed 666s in 34 the same jeans as a 666s sz.34? Just overdyed? Both start raw with the same measurements?

                          why so serious?

^normally yes! the od process should take care of all the shrinkage and since the 666s is made out of an 18oz raw denim, the 666Sod should have the same measurements as a 666s post soak/wash!

no they don't. i wear a 33 for my 666S and even on the tagged 34 for these was impossible for me. its best you run a check with the measurements to see for yourself. 😉

i think the OD process shrinks the jeans big time and thus the drastic difference in the measurements. my 666Sod tagged 34 which i sold off measured 31.7" there about when i first got it while my 666S tagged 33 measured 33.5" pre-soak and though i didn't measure post soak, i was able to button them and so i assume its definitely at least 33". unlike the 666Sod i was way far off from being able to button the top button. eventually i had to sell it off. 😞

                              make peace, not war. <3

There much different feeling denim though after OD

Giles says that the 18oz raw denim shrinks about three percent.
which sounds a bit little. I always thought raw denim shrinkage is around 8 percent.
which would explainbthe measurement difference between 666s and 666sOd.

don't forget the 666Sod stretches back to tagged size like in no time. so if you "boil soak" the 666s I think they will get to the 666Sod measurements as well…Just guessing though!

I said the raw 18oz denim shrinks 3%. - by that I mean our 18oz raw.  That is accurate.

Some raw denim shrinks as much as 10%.  I have not done shrink tests on other brands of denim, so I can't be accurate.

I'm confident that I could get Haraki and Ono to make me a denim that shrinks 15% if I really wanted (which I don't).

This is something else that people often fail to take into account- "super aggressive."  Just soaking your jeans won't get as much shrinkage as running them through the washing machine.  Agitation increases the shrinking process dramatically.
