It was mentioned before that the stitching could be removed but that there was no guarantee that it wouldn't harm the jacket.  The top post seems to indicate confidence that it can be removed without issue.  Is that the case or is there still risk involved?

Fekk, the green is outstanding…...I love the way the branding is so subtle. I'm super thrilled with my 08, but this melton is just plain special looking.

Yep.  I figure either G or P will attend to this once they're up and about.  It's early Sunday morning for them and I think they probably need the sleep!

Yep, best CPO yet in my opinion.

Stitching can be removed, no problems…

What's different about this year's model?  I have the one from last year and can't imagine what was improved or changed (other than color).  They look identical

Only difference as far as I know is back and sleeve straps to adjust size.  Dave, as an owner of last year's model, how warm would you say this jacket is?

G-san, how warm is this jacket and how would you rate its heat-retaining properties in comparison to other IH outerwear?  It doesn't seem like it's that thick.

Paula weighed some shirts and jackets this morning:

                              • Melton shirt - 0.964kg/33.8oz
                              • Red/black plaid CPO jacket - 1.345kg/47.4oz
                              • Plain CPO jacket - 1.45kg/51.2oz

I'd say with a flannel, you'd be set for some pretty cold weather.

Perhaps someone who bought last seasons IHW-03 coud comment

FYI for curious cats out there like me:

CPO stands for Chief Petty Officer, which is a rank in the United States Navy. A CPO jacket is a Navy inspired vintage jacket that was popular back in the 1960s and 1970s. Since then it has re-emerged on the market as a trendy type of coat.

I'm relocating to London this coming January and would need a nice all-round jacket to keep me warm in the winter. I'm considering the IHW-06 or the IH-6526J-SP. Aesthethically I like both jackets almost equally.

Any opnions on which is a more suited jacket for a typical London winter?

For reference, I don't like to wear too many layers because it's always very warm indoors. I need a jacket that can keep me warm on the streets without immediately suffocating me as soon as I take the undergroud.

                                            Cheers!
