I agree and that is because imo, your average European does not understand.  The "standard" whites heel is the standard because it is the comfiest for walking and standing around for long periods.  It is not style over practicality, it is the reverse.

I agree from the point of view of an "uneducated" consumer, but I would hope the majority of people buying Whites (and similar brands) had done their research before purchasing. Personally, I think if a person is buying Whites boots, then safe might not be top of their agenda when it comes to buying Whites.

Thanks for the clarification Jamie, however I'm more interested in the standard heel for the reasons G stated, and also because, aesthetically, I think it suits some boots better (I'm thinking particularly of the SJ's).

All good feedback Mega, tmg & G, a bulk stock order for lots of people of varying tastes is always going to be a bit of a gamble, in retrospect and quite soon after I firmed up the order I regretted not putting any standard heels on and maybe a couple of double soles with vibram outers but we live we learn. I personally like the block lowered and there's been some interest already from those in the know so with a bit of luck when the site goes live enough will gradually sell to get more "interesting" styles in. Intending on being around for the long haul so I'll use what Inpick up from all your comments. Good to get the White's topic feedback from y'all. J.

i think those look great Lucifer.  Good job avoiding the pull loop on a SD, looks much better without in my opinion.

The double midsole with the block heel and half comp outsole is balanced very well on a visual level. I like.  I think the double midsole makes the block heel work.  Usually I find the block heel to look out of place with the standard single midsole.

I might have a double put on when I get mine resoled.

Oh yeah, rebuilds, of course. Mild hassle from the UK but better than using a cobbler here…..

Mega, you have a double midsole on your armageddon boots right?  I know the outsole is pretty chunky but do you think the double midsole makes it super stiff?  Im wondering how a double sole breaks in over time…

Those have a double midsole, and have some William Lennons with a triple leather sole, and to be honest I don't find either particularly stiff.
