Yeah, folks don't get winter around here either. My stepson said a couple years ago "it snowed, I don't want to go to school"

There was a fuckin inch on the ground.

I slapped him on the back of the head and said "if you can see your belt buckle, it hasn't snowed yet"

This is how it is in the southern states.  In North Carolina, where I grew up, the reliable gauge of school cancellation was if the snow covered the grass.  No visible grass = no school.

public schools in NY are closed & mass transit will get shut down in a few hours due to the incoming storm.
think state of emergencey called in NJ . . . Bagley & other folks in the Carolinas (& the storm's path in general) stay safe
