these specific wesco boots i got off the seconds have a weird leather . theyre not the usual oiled leather nor the fire leather or black tie leather  the leather on these are very very similar to white's dress leather. weird.. must be some special make up

Do these generally run large/wide?  Sorry if the sizing question comes up a lot…about to put together a pair and just trying to figure out whether I should go with an 11.5E or a 12D...
would like enough room so toes don't feel scrunched but don't want them to be clownish looking

excellent! good choice . black fire leather wow they will last and you can pass them on to your grandson.

they fit fine. A bit stiff, but nothing that cannot be broken in quite fast I  believe. A bit heel slop, but that's common with theis type of boots, and I think that'll lessen when broken in.
