the only "problem" is have is to know if this would be a perfect jacket for the upcoming months…it somehow looks to light for calling it a real winterjacket...hmmmmmm!  :-\

I haven't laid hands on the new IH jacket, but don't let its light weight mislead you into thinking it won't be warm. I imagine it's similar to Patagonia's Down Sweater, which is super warm while feather light:

                      http://www.patagonia.com/eu/enGB/product/mens-down-sweater-full-zip-hoody?p=84700-0-791

Given that the big H is a fan of Patagonia, I wouldn't be surprised if this was a benchmark…

I have this problem with the IHJ-04 as well.  Basically have to do 40-50F Heavy Flannel, 30-40F Melton, 30 or Below I can get into the jackets.

Really happy to hear this.  I'm hoping that combined with the 535 this will get me through some serious sub-zero temps + wind this winter.  I'm used to down filling so the lack of bulk in the 08 was a little discouraging at first.

I JUST ordered my IHJ-08 and I'm hoping it will be the last winter coat I'll need for a LONG time. I've lost weight and my Filson wool cruisers just look goofy big on me, so this one will be the one. At this point, I won't be buying the 535 so I'm hoping that one of my other shells will work for now. I've found that my Barbour thornproofs with a thick Dale sweater will do fine in the snow. Until the jacket arrives, I'm enjoying my new belt from Tender Co. I've been talking to William via email and he seems like a heck of a nice guy. This belt really surprised me. It's SUPER thick and the buckle is huge. I'm thinking it just might be the last belt I ever need…

Famous last words.  I'm always finding new ways to rationalise the purchase of yet another jacket or coat.  🙂
