Your card should work in most ATMs. I travel there with mine quite a lot. Sometimes you may need to try a couple as you will get the odd, random failure but in NYC there's plenty around. I almost never have any problems with my UK cards at POS terminals in the US though.

Has anyone bought the Self Edge x Iron Heart x Leather Soul jeans? I would like to see pictures of how they fade before making a decision on buying them. The denim is super heavy (23 Oz) : http://www.selfedge.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=71&products_id=847&zenid=f8b35700f7d03f39c0816a003081fd11

I am not sure how comfortable these jeans would be in the summer.

                    Thanks for your help.

So I've been thinking about this for the past few months. I've kept an eye out for the answer, haven't seen, so asking here.

                            Question(s)

                            1. Why the western theme/aesthetic? What's it talking to about? I understand that westerns represent a simpler time of good/bad, and USA was The Good. IH's not a repro company, as I have read, and the clothing is very forward, yet, frequently in a Western style.

1.1 Snaps. Even when it's not a western cut, frequently the clothing has Snaps. Why? What's the source of snapping everything. The shirts are beautiful and very vercitile, until the Snaps are added, and then they're thrown back to being hat-tips to Western clothing. In terms of wearability, Snaps are a no-go in the office. The cut, and clothing, would work perfectly, just without the snaps.

So I guess I've saved 1000's due to western cuts and snaps. I LOVE the attention to detail of ALL IH, Love the clothing, the cuts, the fits, even the ethos I'm aware of.  I don't understand why western and then why snaps on non-western clothing.

                            Appreciate your times in answering.

                            Kindly Thanks.

I'll speak for the snaps….You are looking at a brand that specializes in heavy, raw fabric, not office-wear (but the 36 and 58 should suit those purposes).  These fabrics oftentimes take months to break in properly, and without the snaps on shirts like the 08 and ihd-01 for example, you would have a hell of a time keeping them buttoned.  In several cases you can find on the forum, either the buttons came loose or the buttonhole itself had problems

I take the opposite view.  I do not buy these shirts without snaps.  They are better looking, more functional, stronger, and longer lasting.  Snaps are now on nike golf shirts too---so snaps are not only for westerns.

Also, taking Adams point about keeping the shirt buttoned, you always have to keep in mind that H makes clothing primarily with bikers in mind, hence "Iron Heart - Motorcycle Specialities".

Snaps are a little more practical for some of the shirts, and (bottom line) simply more popular I would bet.

There are tons of IH and TW shirts without snaps.

I would say H adds snaps on the shirts to give us a break after trying to button our jeans…it's called sympathy.  On a serious note buttons would not last period on some of the heavy fabrics H uses.  I personally think the answer u were seeking was common sense.  Kinda like why wheels on a car are round.

Thanks for all your answers gents. Having not owned any of the heavy shirts, I'd not understood it was based/rooted in utility/wear/tear that buttons wouldn't be able to handle.

Guess it leaves the question of why western? Not sure how it folds into the motorcycle image, 2 very different time periods on mostly different sides of the law.

@Seul, yup, wearing one as I speak, and speaking of which, inbound PM for TWSH-04  😉
