All Things Mac/ Apple

Just to add to Winchy's advice…..even simpler would be to use Image Capture -(in applications)(presuming you are on a Mac).

not owning a mac…well not yet, so i just went the copy&paste way.
i had stored like ~4700pics and videos on my iphone, so i had to wait a bitnow i´ve just updated the new software and after going through the iphone settings, it´s just recreating the backup version (2hours to go!)...
i thought, after installing the new software, that i just could go ahead and sync. all the stuff (apps, pics, vids, contacts) which i have saved in itunes into the iphone and that´s it...unfortunately not! :-\

Dropped/ cracked my iPhone 4 screen last night. Anyone know if that is covered by Apple insurance? If not, anyone know the cost to fix it? Trying to decide if I should wait for the 5 or bail and grab a 4S?
-
You should be able to get a new screen for $100. I wouldn't bother going to Apple as they'll probably be more. Best deals in Toronto are in Chinatown.
FYI, Apple wants $300 if you crack a new iPad screen and it's not a replacement. They give you a new iPad.

Thanks for the help. Wondering if I can just go to AT&T and get a new screen? Not that I want to pay $100 for a new screen on this old phone…

L,
If you are gonna replace, wait for the 5.
It's supposed to drop next month.
That's what I was thinking. Just a pain in the ass with this busted screen. Thanks

Yeah I thought about that. Only issue is that I have a aftermarket back that was a bitch to put on and I am pretty sure the whole thing will be fucked if I try to do this. Prob will anyways. Thanks G.

Just ordered a replacement off of ebay. Couldn't stand looking/ dealing with it in its current state. Bring on the 5!!!!

Talking of all things MAC. Woke up this morning to Mail crashing with a "Mail quit unexpectedly" message. Apple support wanted to charged me USD55 per hour to help. Am currently downloading Snow Lion (for USD20) because then I will be in warranty and they'll help me out for nothing…..
About one in twenty crashes, I manage to down load mails before it crashes. Then if I turn WiFi off I can restart and work on those mails.
Reconnect to WiFi and it manages to send the mails before if crashes again..
FECK FECK FECK

Oh, must mean a new iPhone is coming. Happens every time.

Part of the "magical" Apple experience, huh?

10.8 is definitely a better OS than 10.7 - hopefully upgrading solves your problem.
Can I assume that you shut your computer down every night?
Have you tried trashing the preferences? That often fixes bugs.
-
That is definitely part of the problem. Shut it down every night and see if that doesn't make it run better.
