Sorry to say but that lugsole turns me off VERY much. Obviously they don't sand streets in GB at wintertime.

Otherwise nice looking boots…and I'd say with triple leather sole, you will be breaking them in looong time.

I know they're not everyones taste, but it's their complete rugged, indestructible, fuck you look that I like  🙂

As for break in, my first ever Whites were SD's with a double leather sole, and the break in time for me was about 30 seconds, I believe that if you size right, your boots will be a good fit from the get go. I have owned SJ's before in a 9.5, and D is my width, so I should be good to go. Also, the arch ease support really does help with supporting the foot, almost all the people I have ever seen complain about break in with Whites are either flat footed, or have sized incorrectly.

Edit: IJ, they really don't grit anywhere correctly in winter in my part of the UK, where I live we spend more time on our arse than on our feet in winter. We treat snow and ice as a complete surprise, like weather from an alien planet.

I think the SJ's I bought from Nicecrackaction were even wider than that, the width doesn't really effect so much as length, and the difference between a D and an E is not huge.

Thanks brother, I have worn them all summer. Kinda sucks, I haven't put on my Alden 405's since I bought them and I absolutely love my 405's. The White's SD are just so damn comfortable.

Now I've worn out my laces and can't find anything like them. I've got the cotton ones like you and my new SJ's came with the round laces which I don't really like.

Beautiful Jeff, my Sd's only left me yesterday and your pic instantly making me want to purchase new ones. I think I'll be sticking with the low profile leather sole again next time too.

And seeing how nicely your brown dress leather has aged, I might also follow you with that too brother…in fact I might just take a walk to Grahame Fowlers in October.

Edit: Just checked out their website....$535 for the standard SD  ??? I think not, thats $200 more than Bakers.
