Agreed. The extra width on the double welt stitch throws off the proportions of the single leather sole. On the double leather, it looks right, though.

I managed to do a private sale with a Japanese buyer, so I saved on eBay/ Paypal fees, and generally you do get more interest from Japanese buyers than anywhere else as SD's are ludicrously expensive in Japan.
No specs, just to say that these boots would survive a nuclear war, and I still expect to be wearing them in the retirement home. They're the footwear equivalent of a Hummer H1.

Whitesriver on eBay had the exact make up I wanted for my dream boots, in the exact leathers, with a triple leather sole, and the exact Vibram sole.
The colour make up was different, but I watched the auction for a week and ended up paying $420 for them, when to have them made would have cost almost $600
I am a happy man
