My sentiments exactly.  Total medal count is a meaningless waste of air time.  I don't care if the US leads on the overall number, but China had more golds.  Just show me one of the damn events.  I swear, every time I turn on the TV, it's some in studio craptastic feature instead of, oh, I don't know, the Motherfecking Olympics.  Just broadcast the damn events and stop wasting my time with all the meaningless filler trivia.

Well said. My worst Olympics were 2008, thanks to fucking NBC time delayed bs, reports from the hometown of such and such athlete, this year I made sure to be in France during most of the Olympics. with the sound off, cant take French sport journalists' nationalistic idiocy, but at least they show some sport… My daughter just came back from the UK and she told me coverage there was lame, too.

Is there any country with a halfway decent coverage of the Olympics? Alex1976, what is it like in Germany?

I am po'd because I was supposed to land in NYC in time to watch the USA-Argentina basketball game and I found out that my flight is 6 hours delayed. I have a notion Argentina has a weeeeee shot if they can defend and slow down the game.
