Got tired of the wedge sole on my good ol 875's. So got them replaced by some honey lug soles. Never had Goodyear soles though.

I'd like to pose a question to everyone here….I don't wear my Iron Rangers as much as i'd like to and I think its mostly because of the soles.  I've been thinking of getting them resoled with something different and a little more utilitarian for my purposes.    After seeing the Self Edge/Alden/Leather Soul conservation boot I was sort of obsessed with the idea of putting a sole like that on my rangers.  anybody have any experience with resoling their rangers?  or have pics to share?  I'm not even opposed to the Vibram Christy which i know many people hate.

Got the same mixed feelings and experiences with my pair.
Changing the soles might turn out to be an aesthetic challenge - keep us posted.

Don't like the standard soles on my IR's, but am going to have them changed. Just purchased some 875's today on a GREAT sale from a local vendor, will probably have them resoled with the honey lugs featured on the last page. I'm really enjoying the Red Wing experience now that I found extra wide sizes.

my rw chelsea's are hands down my favorite pair of redwing's i've ever owned….and i've had quite a few.  i really like my rangers too but like i said...the sole just makes me shy away.

i don´t think there should be any kinda problems to change the sole on your IR`s mate…should be just like any other resole job imo...
