I hope he did not drop by Oslo without letting me know.

Is it just me, or does it seem wrong that a company named Vermont American sells products made in Switzerland?  Or from anywhere other than Vermont? Or at the very least, America?

It's definitely wrong, and just another reason why I hate Super Dry Japan clothing. Designed in London, made in Turkey, bugger all to do with Japan.

Made in England, clothed in Japan, fed in America and drunk in Belgium !

Then again, it's kind of cool when Japanese repro brands like McCoys and Buzz Rickson pretend to have offices in the States purely in homage to old, union-made goods.

(I do hate Superdry too though)

                Maybe it's Vermont, Switserland?..

Superdry ain't no homage though, it's gaudily designed tat, for people who drink warm cans of Fosters, wear track suit bottoms 2 sizes too big, and at least 2 Staffordshire bull terriers…...oh, and no job or thoughts of wanting a job.

It's weird to me that the group you described above is your perceived Superdry demographic. In London, they have a large flagship store in Covent Garden and the people who took up the brand first (maybe a couple of years ago) were definitely young professional types with disposable income (who might have viewed A&F as being too preppy) rather than scallys of any kind.

Maybe the brand is much more diluted now. The business woes of the company would indicate that they've attempted a really aggressive expansion and not been able to achieve it.

I saw that store in Covent Garden last year and thought it was weird, £5 gets you a hoody on Mansfield market, £20 gets you a stupidly over logo'd jacket.

Yes. I have a pair of their 'Vauxhall' trousers in a dark navy twill. What do you want to know?

Is the quality good? materials/workmanship? Thinking about buying a summer jacket from them.

Yes. I would say quality and workmanship are both excellent. I can only comment on the Tin House twill as I only have one pair but it's a lovely material. Although, it would feel a bit lightweight compared to your IH stuff despite being described as 'stout' 🙂

Customer service was very good as well. They were very helpful about switching my delivery address around as I was travelling when they were due to arrive.

                                Couple of pics to follow….

I'm going through this now. Moved from a Flat Head cordovan card wallet to an IH short wallet. The fades haven't set in yet, and the old fades don't line up with the current wallet. It's a little strange looking to that rare person who might actually give a shit, but it's not weird looking enough to gasp

It's one of those "hey, your fade is too small for your wallet"/"I got a new wallet" conversations that ends right there

Although I guess it could be a "your jeans don't match your wallet yet, loser"/"you don't have a black eye yet" conversations

I know violence is not the answer, I got it wrong on purpose

Yeah, Rocket and Doug pretty much covered it.

A little brother of a friend of mine who just got into raw denim tends to asks me these kind of questions all the time. I understand where he comes from as I was like that too. I simply just give him the IJ approach and say, "they're just jeans. do whatever."

Or you can listen to Rocket and have an excuse for another pair.. ::)
