IH-461S - 21oz Selvedge Denim Boot Cut Jeans - Indigo

Hi everyone, new here, and new to IH. I recently bought my first pair of IH 461's and they are a little tight. Still wearable and not uncomfortable. Just wondering if there are any strategies, other than wearing the hell out of them to get them to loosen up. Would a soak help them to loosen up faster or hurt them. Any advice would be appreciated.

Just wear them….

well, if you put them on damp the stretching will be faster. But the long time effect stays the same.

Just washed them for the first time. Hung dry until slightly damp. Put them on while still a little damp. They basically shrunk back to the original size when I got them. No loss of indigo really.

some free apps like gorillacam have a self timer.  Not sure why it's not built in.  I was hoping ios5 had a timer

I think these jeans are really underestimated, what do you think? They are on my radar since a long time as I like a little flare and spotted some pairs at VMC some weeks ago…I have so many jeans...who cares I have to get them you never have enough jeans...I'll keep you posted

I totally agree with them being understated.  I have so so many pairs of straight and tapered cuts.  It's nice to change it up with a bootcut every now and then.  They have become my go-to jeans for when I'm riding my Harley.  I did size up due to the thigh measurements and they fit great.  Mine are not the 461S but the 461.

thank you again gratefulmelon and ij for your inputs. I had already the chance to reserve a 461 without S sized up 1 so I will cop definitely within the next few days they felt really really good so my heart said: you neeeeeeed hahaha my closet explodes…;)

I was introduced to IH through the 461S.  These jeans are still my favourite IH product and get more wear than anything else in my closet.  I've got a couple of pairs!  Highly recommended and a hugely underrated cut, in my opinion.

One thing to be careful of: the low-rise of these jeans means that when you bend over there's serious danger of showing "plumbers crack".

This thread (and the 461S) are seriously under-appreciated so here's a fit pic to get things going.

These are my go to jeans for work - super comfortable and much loved.  Hope this helps with your decision making Davito.
