just running a check, are the shirt in the link listed at selfedge the same as this topic's shirt? realised selfedge does not put the model number of their IH products so it makes me kinda confused.  😶

then the available "small" in selfedge's online shop would be too small for me.  😶

SE and IH.uk always measure a bit differently…you actually can use both, but you always have to keep in mind to measure "their" way. so if you go with the measurements from Giles, measure the Giles way (same story with kiya!)...
if you unsure, check "how we measure" on the different webpages!...

I got a size L in this and it shrank to a slightly roomier size M…

              😛

              If you followed selfedge's measurement M = 43"  Whereas IHUK M = 41.3" imo it's a HUGE difference we are talking here.

I do agree with Rafa's advised that one should follow the way of measuring accordingly from where you choose to buy them from.

We don't use IH's numbering system as we find it's too confusing and harder for our customers to remember numbers than names.

I did read up on sizing. Selfedge says these shrink 1/2inch when washed, on your site minimal shrinkage. I'd assume to true to size. I am 5 8 131lbs about to get a size small is that correct

It's one washed, so there should be minimal shrinkage.  Best way to tell your size is measure a shirt that fits you well and then compare with the measurements on our site (under sizing).

What do u guys think if i were to buy this and get the sleeves cut off by my tailor?  I picture me wearing this with sleeves cut off and a short or long  sleeve tee underneath.  Would that be bad to do such a thing ?

These don't shrink with a cold water wash and air dry…not even a little bit IMO.
