And whilst I was in the World Tour mood, I'm embarking in a mini beer world tour tonight, as I don't have work tomorrow  😉

Brooklyn Lager is not good, I had a rough night in Greenwich Village on that shit, and White Russians in 2000…...somehow ended up in a bar where everyone was Chinese apart from me and the two other English dudes I was with.....with some weird Britney Spears meets transvestite Karaoke thing happening. I was really, really drunk, and no I was not the transvestite.

That's a great photo and the quote is usually true (for me). But it needs to be extended: "…and replaced it with a hangover!"

OK Seul, you convinced me to try some Belgian Beer. I've read through your posts and made a list of what you had and of what I can buy online in Germany. Please feel free to recommend anything essential (or optional). I also went ahead and added the prices in order to give an overview of what Germans have to pay (which is reasonable IMO). Please note: We use commas instead of points for decimal numbers. Would be great if you could give a comment.

Lately I've been moving away from my usual dark beers and trending toward the lighter end of the spectrum.  That's what you're supposed to do in the summer, right?  Anyway, here are a couple I've had recently-

This one is only ok; the ginger flavor is a bit too strong for my liking.  It tends to overpower the grapefruit, which is supposedly the headliner.  Oh well, it goes down pretty quickly when it's nice and cold.

This one was a mistake on my part- when I buy beers that aren't big sellers, I usually check the label to make sure the bottle hasn't been sitting on the shelf gathering dust for ages.  I was in a hurry and didn't do that this time.  Turns out I grabbed a beer that's been, shall we say, "bottle conditioning" since October 2010…  As a result, it was far more tart than I expected.  Still drinkable, and not entirely bad, once you get adjusted to the sourness, but still a bit of a disappointment.  Oh well.

Oh, and this reminds me- the bottle had both a cork and a cap.  Seriously?  Isn't that just a touch of overkill?
