Can't disagree with your sentiment Costanza, I think most times though the definition of "fecked" is in the eye of the beholder. I've been rotating the same 2 pairs of jeans for 18 months now, and they're still not "fecked" in my opinion, I see other guys who seriously feck their denim in 6 months.
For me, this should only apply to denim, and similar fabrics though. Most of my shirts and jackets I like to keep nice and crisp, because I really don't want to have to replace them, and in some cases because I can't replace them.

I like your thinking Costanza. I do think most people with runaway spending habits (not just on here) are doing themselves a disservice by not truly breaking their clothing in and revealing the true beauty of the fabrics and cutting. Specifically with IH, this stuff takes a while to yield best results and doesn't give it up easily like Samurai or TFH.
I'm not trying to 'feck' my clothing in the sense of reducing it to scraps in the shortest time possible. I want long wear from my garments - denim included - and believe in looking after it with simple common-sense maintenance so that what it reveals in time is how I move and live, not how quickly I can put a hole in the knee or back pocket.

make up your own answer, different companies will do it differently… some will be machine washed and tumble dried, some will be soaked in a stream by an artisan and hung dried, some may be done by the jean maker and some by the shop selling them, you'd have to ask the place you bought them from or go straight to the source to know for sure.
the point is predictability in sizing, and saving you the trouble of having to do it yourself. a bit less risk, you buy a pair raw and soak them, you own them

I'm quite tempted to be honest… I don't know about "ballsy" enough. I could get some of those silver tips for the collar of my 08 and pretend to be that fine comic creation The Preacher :).

i think you´ll find answers from both sides mate…some are buying shit just to look good in it and some cuz they need it and cuz they wanna look good!
after seeing Geo, El and Giles rocking a pair of ditas (and after i´ve busted my moscots the last night!)...i´m really thinking about a pair of dita´s...though i do know that i can´t afford a pair right now, so i have to wait i´m affraid!
and yeah, i´m the one who buys glasses cuz he needs them!... -
i'm blind as a bat. i hate wearing glasses & so over compensate by getting the best looking frames i can find. i only have dita based on glowing recommendations from forum members & the fact that i'm a sucker for made in Japan goods. other pair of glasses are moscot & i've had them so long i don't think they make the particular frame anymore

I need glasses to see, and Persol were worn by Steve McQueen, who was the coolest guy who ever lived. Steve made my brand choice for me

I use glasses 'cos I have to… I don't buy Dita or other high end brands, not just because they're overpriced imho, but 'cos I haven't seen or tried single one that makes me feel good.
Glasses need to be bought so that you feel good in them, and that they look good on you.
Gazillion factors to be considered when you're buying a pair. Size/shape of the lens, overall width are usually first ones to look.
Lesser name brands often offer good value for your money. To me buying glasses may take up to 6 months, or it can happen in a´blink of an eye, 'cos I'm on a hunt for a "perfect" frames for my needs at that moment, and I have usually very strong visual idea what I want.
Don't know if this answered any Q's , maybe just kinda ranting....
