Looking at the sizing page, it seems that the BJ runs a bit smaller than the superblack. I have a large in the superblack, primarily bc I wear it over a dress shirt and tie most days. Over a tshirt, think I could do a medium. Could I get a medium BJ, or would it be uncomfortable

I'd say yes, since G.stated this on the webpage:

Raw, so there will be approx 1" shrinkage in arms and length and about 1/2 inch in P2P

in my feeble mind i always took the name as BJ to mean Beat's Jacket & the patch to imply the same. also made it eays to tell the difference, not the first & sure won't be the last that i'm wrong on this sort of thing
