I'm not at all worried about G's hemming skills.  He's looks like he know plenty well what he's doing from his video.  I was just curious if he did anything different when hemming over dyed jeans.  Hence the original hem getting over dyed and the new hem not.

Yes G hemmed my SB dark thread outside yellow inside. He does a fantastic job. You need not worry.

I am pretty sure the pair in the shop was one which the owner used a spray bottle or some sort of dampening technique to achieve such crisp combs. Just so there is no confusion.

MikeC you very well could be right.  It really looked like that thread was picking up the OD.  Maybe I'm seeing things.  This was never a big concern of mine.  More a random thought that came to mind.
