Little horsehide update (since Jan):

I've been pretty happy with them.. the leather is excellent and just a little bit more than cow. Part of the color change might be due to the fact that I coated them in some whites wax after almost right away.

His are horsehide, which costs a bit more than cowhide. Still a bit early for you, huh Giles?

The CXL from whites is only about 30 bucks cheaper than the horsehide at bakers. The extra money for HH seems to be well spent. I'm no expert, but it seems a little thicker and I think it ages better. The CXL from them seems to have a bad rep, so what I just wrote might not mean much if that's true.

The more I look at these the more I think I should sell my RW Iron Rangers and get a pair of these instead
The only reason I didn't go that route back when I was looking for some boots is I couldn't find a pair I liked without a leather sole.

dirty denim, i'm glad you stumbled upon a great deal with your boots. they look really red to me :-\ but again i'm glad you are happy with them
