      Hey Giles, you said the 634SR and the 666S have poly constructional thread in the yoke and hips; I know where the yoke is, are the hips the side seams from the waistband to below the pockets?

      Trying to educate myself on construction and correct terminology…

      Yes

        @madmonday:

        GHBK16, great question. To get the most use and stand up to abuse I agree with Dr Pat Superblack anything. For various climates I say the 13 and will give my reasoning. The 13 is priced abit less than many items but can be worn with many fits in various ways and look none the worse for wear. I have never had issue with having to reinforce my snaps but on my workshirts of various materials getting the buttons to stay put is always an issue. After answering just thought if you meant for a cold or hot climate and top, bottom or outerwear.

        Thanks for the thoughtful response. As for climate, I'm in Brooklyn so a little bit of everything as you know.  Looks like I'll have to give the 13 a try…and maybe some Superblack bottoms.

          Cool.  So, follow up question- why use poly on only those places, rather than cotton like the rest of the seams?

            So Julius Von Felden was right after all. A pity about that rod up his arse.

            not quite, jvf was complaining about stitching at the waistband, which is different than the yoke

              Those are areas of greatest strain, thus H likes to use the strongest thread he can….In his words (and remember this applies to only the 666S and the 634SR:

              Basically, we use cotton. But the parts will be exerted, like hip and yoke, we use polycotton.

                        I'm thinking that this has to involve a breach of contract at some end of the chain, but I'm not a lawyer.

                        Aren't some of Haraki-san's denim specs proprietary, and restricted only to IH?  This is like stealing Coca-Cola's syrup and reselling it under your own brand IMO!

                                            pretty sure its at your PO, happen all the time to my customers in the US…

                                            Okay, I was hoping to hear this.  I just called the local PO.  They said they would look into it, but it would take a few days.

                                            Ordered from the guy multiple times before, and it always worked out fine, but as I understand it, he started double boxing his packages, which I think might be too large for the regular mailman (he walks the route).  Usual they send it out on a truck if this happens.  The problem is, there is a house one street down, with the same house number as me, and sometimes I get their mail, so I was just hoping that it didn't end up at the wrong house.  If one of my neighbors got it they would have given it to me (at least those on my street).  As for the other street, I have no idea.

                                            So, an update on this.  I have been in contact with the local PO a few times trying to get info (like I said, I cannot actual go there until Saturday) but they have been pleasant about it all.  They said it is not at the facility and that they will check on the postman who "delivered" it.  As I suspected by the size of the package, it was one of the drivers (not my regular postman) although I get packages from the driver so often I know they know my address and that I get records in the mail A LOT!  They said he has been off the past few days and that he won't be back until tomorrow, when they will contact him and get back to me.  The one driver looks like a metalhead, so I hope he is not "Driver 4."

                                            Out with the new! In with the old!
