What's your favorite Beer?
-
I am adding Seul's favorite beer store to my bucket list. One day…
-
You'll need one - bucket that is….
I was thinking more like we could borrow a pallet loader from Seul's work…

BOON 'Oude Kriek' Mariage Parfait. This is quite something else… Tastes drier than the normal Boon Kriek, more sour as well, and you can taste the oak...
At 8 % and 37.5 cl. this is as dangerous as giving Jestre an axe, extending your leg and then insult his mother...
This'un was too sour for my likings… Geo would've loved it, I remember him loving the sour Lambic beers... I'm now trying the standard Old Kriek (Oude Kriek) from Boon. 6.5 %. Although it's more sour than the standard Kriek, this doesn't taste like Lambic/ Geuze... Probably will stick with the basic product though!.. Expire date is March 29 2031 btw... Yes: 2031!..

DUIVELS BIER - a dark, rich flavoured strong beer with a huge history… This was actually made before Duvel... Duvel was, until 1965, a dark beer... Based on this one, actually... They changed to the blond champagne-ish beer because it sold better...
The Boon brewery bought the name back in 2002, and started making the original Devilish beer again, DUIVELS BIER... So fuck Duvel - if you want something REAL get this... ::)
I get goosebumps with every sip… This is just incredible beer... Followed the instructions and am drinking it at 14C° as well... In love... Gonna be needing a whole lot more of these stat... 1.25 €/ bottle.

That looks really good Eli. Will have to look into local options.
-
I remember when I had my first Duvels in Amsterdam, in a small joint called Mellow Maloe or something similar, 1987 I think. Got one…got second one...started to thikn smebdy pot sumthin' in me drink....took alook at the bottle...aha...ordered third one...all in about 45 mins. Can't really remember how the evening ended, oh well....
-
Hmmm, that does look good. I'll have to see if I can (hopefully!) find some around here. Dammit, Seul, why do you have to taunt us with good beer?;)
-
Seriously, Eli's selections make me jealous. I have know of no location where I could find such gems.

One day, you're going to hear a knock on your door, and when you open it, I will be standing there saying, "where's your beer fridge?"

These two were from my local booze shop (b-day prezzies). coming in at a cheeky 10.5%, I like to call them "early night" beers….
very tasty, 'specially with a bit o' cheese….

Seul, I've been sippin' some of that Westmalle too(both the dubbel & tripel, mmmmmm) along with some Vedett extra blond - v.nice and crisp. They have a fantastic range of world beers but alas, non of that triple karma-wotsit
-
I had an imperial stout of that norwegian beer about a month ago. It was damn good.
-
Funny you should mention that one;I had a porter from that brewery a while back. Not bad, as I recall.
Not terribly strong, just 7%abv.
