Yeah you're right… But it didn't happen when I wore 'm cuffed the first couple of months... Bit weird...

My ALDs (14 oz) don't have this and I've worn them cuffed since the start  :-\

                edit.

if it's sthe stiffness, I think soaking/washing hems thoroughly 2"-5" upwards might soften the fabric a bit...

We'll see what happens to my RAWs, as they've been through washer more often than my SRs....

It will happen to any jeans at any price level. Cotton is a natural fiber. If bent or folded, over time the denim will wear down in the spots which take the most abrasion or exposure. Just my opinion though.

Lando, you're totally right, but you neglected ( probably in a hurry) to see that both Seul and I said that in lighter weight denim this doesn't happen [so fast]. (or at least didn't mention anything about it) But like G said, it's most likely due to rigidity of the denim that causes it to happen so soon.

This sort of fraying on the frontside of the hem is annoying. Never have had that happen to other jeans.
I've already fixed my SRs and will soon put my 634S's under the sewing machine. Probably today, if I have time…

Yes I did neglect to read the first part. And I do agree that heavier denim will wear quicker at these stress points. Guess that is the price we pay. You can always iron out your cuffs at the end of the day or unfold them so that the damage is not as severe.

That is a nice job.  I can't remember; did you send them to the Works for the repairs?
