My IH-634S have never had any sort of attention so I decided to finally give them a little. The Front pockets were both on the verge of fully blowing out. The right was a bit stronger but both were in dire need of some fixing. Below are photos of the home repairs.

      Pocket Bag…

      Right Pocket…

Thanks guys. Nothing professional I know. Just prefer the personal touch that comes from doing it yourself. I used the Red threading on the Right pocket just for something different. Actually looking to do a bunch more sewing and what not in the future. Thinking about possibly even borrowing my sisters machine and practicing.

                                        edit.

if it's sthe stiffness, I think soaking/washing hems thoroughly 2"-5" upwards might soften the fabric a bit...

We'll see what happens to my RAWs, as they've been through washer more often than my SRs....

It will happen to any jeans at any price level. Cotton is a natural fiber. If bent or folded, over time the denim will wear down in the spots which take the most abrasion or exposure. Just my opinion though.

Lando, you're totally right, but you neglected ( probably in a hurry) to see that both Seul and I said that in lighter weight denim this doesn't happen [so fast]. (or at least didn't mention anything about it) But like G said, it's most likely due to rigidity of the denim that causes it to happen so soon.

This sort of fraying on the frontside of the hem is annoying. Never have had that happen to other jeans.
I've already fixed my SRs and will soon put my 634S's under the sewing machine. Probably today, if I have time…
