Well actually the DC4001 only had the selvage detail on the right hand side.

But, sometimes it is the little things that only you know are there, that makes something special….

i'm a little familiar with the 4001s as i did "mess about with" them. i foolishly assume since you (meaning finn) do not like chit chat in product threads you would look at the specs of the jeans before making comments.  i mean i know how much it annoyed you in the 13s thread.
to clarify the 4001 specs that i THINK are shared on the 4002 :

Bronze coloured (IH-634SR Type) hardware
half lined rear pockets
Taped front pocket opening
Offset rear belt loop
Selvage detail on front right belt loop

selvage belt loops are A-okay for me - sweet detail that doesn't effect the look of the jean from an outsider's perspective (anybody that sees you on the street!)

The seem to be more of a standard straight than a slim straight like the 4001
