Sanforized vs unsanforized doesn't necessarily mean washed vs unwashed

It means that sanforized is pre-shrunk, and unsanforized will still shrink when wet

Washed vs raw is another one to be aware of. Raw denim tends to bleed onto adjacent fabrics. Pre washed jeans are oftentimes referred to as "one wash" or OW

The 634S is raw, unwashed and sanforized

There are other things to think about: sizing down can lead to blown seams and crotches. Some feel that not washing for long periods of time will also cause premature wear in your jeans.

Depends on what you want. Not washing and sizing down will cause the highest contrast fades. A happy medium will lead to a long life with your jeans and a fading you like. You're going to have to figure that out for yourself according to how you wear your jeans, where you wear your jeans, where you live, etc. All these things affect fading properties and longetivity of your denim

The thing with the 634S is that is is in constant production.  With all the other jeans, they are one-offs or sporadic.  So introducing the chage in the 634S is more complicated than with the other styles.  Hey, I know it's not rocket science, but hey.  Anyway it WILL get done as Haraki considers the tucked into the waist band belt loop to be a good thing and an Iron Heart signature…G

A very old post I know, but happened to this idea of adding sewn in belt loops to the 634S?

IH-666S = raw, unwashed. Means YOU need to wash it prior to wearing.
IH-634S = pre-washed. Means you can start wearing them immediately.

                Too slow  😠

too slow? anyway thanks a lot mate. appreciate your help. 🙂

I did, but I decided not to change Doug's post as we really just give them a soak, not a wash…

I've put IH's in scalding hot water from the tap, the leather patch was fine. Maybe a little dry, but it was fine

You wind up with crispy leather patches when you boil the jeans

Before you ask: there is no good reason to boil your jeans. Usually people do that when they've bought a pair of jeans that are too large and think that if hot water will cause some shrinkage, boiling water will cause MASSIVE shrinkage
