i must be weird cos i prefer the standard buttons over the snaps.. more in keeping with the rest of the shirt imho. i guess i should put my money were my mouth is and lay down some money eh

i dont think it needs side pockets but please keep making a solid color heavy flannel every year.  this will be a definite purchase for me every year.  i also think i like this better than the normal button version because i already have the IHW01 so I have a wool version of the same shirt already.  Didn't need another.  I have two of the other heavy westerns and I love them.  This is my fav of the 3 that i have.

One of these beautiful black flannels arrived at my doorstep yesterday.  And the first day I had it on my back I had to break up a fight between two girls at work.  I'd say that the flannel was the victor.

I know what you mean. I think it's due to how visible the weave is on this shirt.
When you get your hands on one, you can actually see the how thick the threads are.

This is, in part, because the warp and the weft are dyed to slightly different hues before weaving…..
